Palmer
A pilgrim, esp. one who returned from the Holy Land with a palm-leaf badge as a souvenir. The term was also used of *mendicant monks on a perpetual *pilgrimage from shrine to shrine. These latter often wore badges or small tokens as proof of having visited pilgrimage sites. Such tokens were sold at all sites. -
